Les orques (baleines tueuses) sont l'espèce la plus souvent aperçue. Toutefois, les baleines à bosse, les baleines de Minke et les baleines grises peuvent également être observées, de même que des phoques communs, des otaries de Steller et de Californie, des aigles chauves, des marsouins communs et des marsouins de Dall.

Bon nombre de circuits d'observation des baleines à Victoria partent directement du centre-ville. Il est donc facile d'allier après-midi d'observation des baleines et séance de shopping ou de golf.
