The 60th anniversary of the Angelican Foundation of Canada is proud to present an exhibition featuring thirty Canadian textile artists and their explorations into the realm of the sacred. The works span an array of traditional and innovative textile media; including new perspectives on centuries-old religious vestments, liturgical items and ritual practices, radical reinterpretations of sacred space and private meditation. The work of these artists offers significant insight into the important role cloth plays in the Canadian contemporary spiritual landscape.

To commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the First World War, we are pleased to host this travelling exhibit. Curated by Heather Smith and organized by the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery, it looks at the little-studied area of Canadian craft related to war. Trench art refers to items made by soldiers, prisoners of war, and civilians from war-related or other materials during times of armed conflict. The majority of these objects were made during the First World War but the exhibit also includes objects from World War II and Afghanistan. Regular admission fees apply.

The Smith Foundation presents Art School High, a group exhibition curated by Dr. Patrik Andersson, and showcasing works by twelve established Canadian artists: Karin Buba, John Collins, Rodney Graham, Scott Livingstone, Ken Lum, Jean MacRae, Kyla Mallett, Shannon Oksanen, Kathy Slade, Ron Terada, Neil Wedman and David Wisdom. With tones that shift from humorous to critical, the work presented in Art School High challenges preconceptions, provokes memories, and spurs dialogue.

Join us May 13 from 1-3PM for the opening and for the artists' conversations from 3-4PM.

The Vancouver Asian Heritage Month Society (VAHMS) and the Vancouver Lipont Art Centre are pleased to present Generation One Art Exhibition during the 21st annual explorASIAN festival, which promotes national Asian Heritage Month in May. The Generation One Art Exhibition was created in 2009 as a signature program of the VAHMS festival to feature both established and emerging local artists, who are first-generation Asian Canadians by immigration or birth, and to provide a forum for exploring new expressions of Canadian identity. This year, the exhibition will focus on issues of social integration facing Asian Canadians of various generations.

This exhibition features only wood: from streamlined and functional items of utility, to fine art pieces that have no other purpose than to delight. Carved wood, turned wood, handcrafted furniture, jewelry, sculpture, and some whacky musical instruments have been submitted from artists across the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley. A collection of recent wood-fired ceramics by Maple Ridge potter, Mark Tigges, shows how wood can take on a new life and purpose even as it is committed to the flames.

Over 60 vendors with everything from many one-of-a-kind, handmade items to vintage collectibles, baking, tools and household goods. The pancake breakfast is from 8:00 am-noon and the event runs from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm every second Sunday of each month, year round.

The Poultry Swap is from 10:00 am - noon, with no vendor charge.

Live music by various musicians. We are 10 minutes north of Qualicum Beach, just off the Old Island Highway, 240 Lion's Way.

Only $11 for inside or an outside spot (bring your own tent, etc.)

We exhibit paintings, woodwork, pottery, stained glass, jewelry as well as felted work and the list goes on. Along with 22 gallery artists, we have 6 artists who sell their work on consignment and over 50 Associate members who support the Arts in Enderby through their annual membership of $20. Courtyard Gallery committees keep the gallery looking fresh and interesting with ever changing artwork and the occasional new artist/artisan. Annually, Courtyard Gallery hosts a student's exhibition and an Open Exhibition in January. Recently, we have started offering workshops by our gallery artists as well as visiting artists from up and down the Okanagan. We also participate in the Enderby Arts Festival held every July in Enderby.
